What is the travel insurance policy excess/deductible?

The policy available to Australian residents has a AUD$100 policy excess applied to most benefits.

This means you're required to contribute AUD$100 towards all expenses arising from any one event, depending on the benefit claimed. The policy excess applies to all policy benefits, except Local Funeral Expenses/Repatriation of Remains, Clinical psychology, Personal Accident, Personal Liability, or Kidnap/hijack cash daily benefit, as shown in the Summary of Benefits in the policy wording.

Where applicable, the excess will be deducted from your claim before your claim is paid.

If your combined expenses for any one event are less than the excess, your insurance will not reimburse you. The policy wording will tell you when an excess does and doesn't apply.

Sorry, it's not possible to buy out the policy excess.
